Overview
Lakeshore Roofing handles roof replacements and storm repairs across Chicago. Roofing demand here swings hard with the seasons. But the website was not built to catch that demand. So the busiest months often slipped by without much organic traffic.
The Challenge
We looked at the site’s search performance and found real gaps.
- Rankings for terms like “roof replacement” sat far below page one. Bigger regional companies held those spots.
- There was no content built around seasonal demand, such as storm damage or spring inspection searches.
- Paid ads carried most of the leads, which kept cost per lead high.
- The content read like generic roofing copy. It did not speak to local weather or local homes.
Our Strategy
We built a plan around how roofing demand actually moves through the year in Chicago. We did not treat every month the same.
Phase 1: Competitive Keyword Targeting
- Found the roofing terms Lakeshore could realistically win, and built content clusters around each one.
- Rewrote core pages to target people ready to book a job, not just browse.
- Fixed page speed and mobile design, since both were dragging rankings down.
Phase 2: Seasonal Content and Demand Capture
- Built pages for storm season, covering damage checks and emergency repairs.
- Published maintenance guides timed to when people start searching each spring.
- Linked these pages straight to the quote form to keep visitors moving toward booking.
Results
- Rankings for competitive terms climbed steadily instead of stalling on page two.
- Seasonal pages caught search demand right when storms hit.
- Cost per lead dropped as organic traffic reduced the need for paid ads.
Client Testimonial
“Storm season used to mean scrambling for ad spend. Now our own site pulls in people who need help right away.” — Operations Manager, Lakeshore Roofing
Key Takeaway
Roofing demand in Chicago does not stay steady. It spikes. Lakeshore’s growth came from building content around those spikes, so real keywords could rank instead of relying on ads every season.
