CASE STUDY

How Copperline Plumbing Took Over Local Search in Chicago

Overview

Copperline Plumbing fixes pipes and heaters for homes across Chicago. The team has worked on the North Side for over a decade. Word of mouth kept the phones ringing. But the website was almost invisible online. So new customers could not find the business when they searched.

The Challenge

We checked the site and found some clear problems.

  • The homepage talked about plumbing in general terms. It did not mention any specific neighborhoods.
  • Service pages were thin. Pages about drain cleaning and water heaters read like every other plumber’s site.
  • The Google Business Profile was incomplete. Details did not match across service areas.
  • Almost all traffic came from paid ads. Very little came from organic search.

Our Strategy

We built a plan with two clear phases. The goal was simple. Get Copperline found in the neighborhoods it actually serves, then turn that traffic into real leads.

Phase 1: Neighborhood-Level Local SEO

  • Built local pages for each neighborhood Copperline serves, each with its own content instead of copied text.
  • Cleaned up the Google Business Profile so every listing matched across all areas.
  • Added local schema markup to help search engines link the business to each neighborhood.

Phase 2: Service Page Optimization

  • Rewrote core service pages to speak to real problems, like a burst pipe or a broken water heater.
  • Added clear buttons so visitors could ask for a quote fast.
  • Linked neighborhood pages to service pages so visitors could find what they needed.

Results

  • Neighborhood pages started to show up on page one for local searches.
  • Core service pages moved up the rankings too.
  • Leads from organic search were better qualified. More calls turned into booked jobs.

Client Testimonial

We used to depend only on referrals and ads. Now people find us when they search for a plumber in their own neighborhood, and those leads convert. — Owner, Copperline Plumbing

Key Takeaway

Ranking well in Chicago does not mean chasing the whole city at once. It means building real pages for real neighborhoods. Copperline’s growth came from that simple shift, backed by service pages that answer what customers actually search for.
